Pepper and Salt Mills We make two distinctly different styles of mills that appeal to a variety of design tastes. One is called “antique style” and the other is referred to as an “elliptical style”.
Antique Style Pepper Mill
This mill is so named because the mechanics are reminiscent of a small antique coffee grinder. It’s available in two finishes; antiqued satin brass and antiqued satin copper. It features a variable grinding mechanism that easily adjusts from a fine to a coarse grind by simply turning the screw on top. The peppercorns are stored in the bowl of the mechanism which is accessed through the sliding cover. Since the grinding mechanism is made of metal it is not recommended for use with salt as corrosion could result. The wooden base of each peppermill is hand turned and is a striking, one of a kind creation. This style mill is approximately 7 inches tall.
Elliptical Style Pepper and Salt Mills
This mill is so named because of its egg or elliptical shaped body. It has a ceramic grinding mechanism thereby making it appropriate for use as either a pepper or salt mill. The grinding contents are stored within the body of the mill and are accessed by unscrewing the nib on the top of the mill and removing the grinding arm. The mill can then be filled with either peppercorns or salt crystals and the grinding arm replaced. The nib that screws onto the top also regulates the grind texture from fine to coarse. The wood body of each mill is hand turned and each is unique in shape and design. This style mill is approximately 5 inches tall.
